Board of Directors
The Association is governed by a Member-Elected Board of Directors. The election of the Board of Directors is held at the Annual Membership Meeting on the 2nd Tuesday in February. GWA has five board positions and members can elect up to seven Board members. With there being only one acting Board President, one acting Board Vice President, and one acting Board Secretary/ Treasurer. The other elected Board member positions are under the title of Board Officer.
The Board President has a term for 2 years, the Vice President has a term for 2 years, and the Secretary/ Treasurer has a term for 2 years. Other Board members positions that carry the title of Officer have a term for 2 years. To be considered for a position on the Board of Directors candidates must be an existing member of the Association.
The By-Laws of the Association describe the duties and responsibilities of the Board of Directors for each of their Positions and the election process.
