Current Water Curtailment Alert Levels

Current Water Curtailment Alert Levels: NORMAL – Average Daily Plant Runtime 12.8hrs

Water Conservation for the Summer of 2025

To raise more public awareness, The Glide Water Association Board of Directors have constructed a sign that displays the alert levels of our Water Curtailment Plan. The sign has been installed along the bike path in front of the Dollar General store near the Bobcat Lane intersection in Glide. The arrow on the sign will point to which water curtailment alert level we will be actively operating in. Each level of curtailment will have different requirements of water conservation. Please see our Water Curtailment Alert Levels provided for more information.

This Summer we will be breaking ground on our Water Treatment Capacity Upgrades project and during the construction there will be critical components of our treatment system taking offline to be upgraded/replaced. When these critical components are offline (i.e. our intake pumps or main electrical service) we will be unable to produce water for a period of time and will be relying on what we have in our water storage reservoirs. During that time, we ask our members to curtail their water usage and conserve. Public Notices will be provided when there are plans for critical water infrastructure to be brought offline and we will need our members to adhere to our water curtailment plan. Our new sign, installed near Dollar General will help provide public notice of which water curtailment alert level we will be in.

For more information on our Water Treatment Capacity Upgrades project or other active projects we are working on please visit our website at https://glidewaterassociation.com/. Members can always hear monthly updates on our projectsprogress at our regularly scheduled Board Meetings that are held on the second Tuesday of each month at the GWA office starting at 6PM.

Thank you to everyone for your assistance and understanding as we embark on completing this major project that will benefit our community for many years to come. We are very grateful for having such a supportive community!

2025 GWA Water Curtailment Levels

Water Curtailment Alert Levels

Our goal is to have the Water Treatment Plant running less than 16 hours a day in order to maintain the equipment and have some additional capacity to cover periods of peak usage and other emergencies.  During summer months when the Average Daily Plant Run Time exceeds 16 hours a day, the Glide Water Association asks our Members to assist in reducing water usage.  The current Average Daily Run Time will be posted on the GWA website: www.glidewaterassociation.com

Below are the three Water Usage Curtailment Levels and the Measures we ask our Members to observe.  This information is also posted on the GWA Water Curtailment Sign located along Hwy 138 near Bobcat Lane at the Dollar General.

Glide Water Association Rules and Regulations – Section 3.10.7:

During period of heavy water usage especially in the summer months, it may become necessary to ration or stop the use of association water to irrigate lawns, gardens, and outside plants. Once it is determined by the Board of Directors that water rationing is needed, the membership will be notified that mandatory water rationing needs to be put into effect.

Reasons for mandatory water rationing to be put into effect:

  • Heavy Water Usage in the Summer Months
  • Average Daily Plant Runtime Exceeding Recommended Runtime Limits
  • Low Water Conditions
  • Extended Periods of Hot Weather
  • Or Any Combination of the Above-Mentioned Reasons

Any member of the association that ignores mandatory water rationing guidelines and proceeds to use water in ways that are banned or listed as restricted according to the water curtailment alert stages, will first receive a written notice, then if repeated offense a second notice will be given accompanied with a fine (to be determined by the Board of Directors based on severity), continued offense will result in a final notice and water shutoff with applicable $50 water shut off fees.”

We believe that voluntary curtailment of water usage by our members will allow us to meet the goal of achieving an average daily plant run time less than 16 hours.  We do not want to fine members for ignoring mandatory water curtailment measures, but fines will remain as a tool in cases of individual members ignoring the mandatory water curtailment measures by using excessive water during Moderate and Severe Stages. Residential users that have a consistent usage of over 20,000 gallons per month during the summer period (June-September) will be subject to discretionary discipline to be determined by the Board of Directors. This will be done to reduce water waste and protect water service to members who are not negligent of their water usage.
